Default External Display problems

Hi, I like to connect my Laptop up to my TV when I am on Illustrator and
Photoshop, and combining with my tablet, recently I had a problem with my
tablet where instead of the pen would be "related" to the monitor where it
would be on the display where my pen was, I pressed something on the keyboard
and it changed it to act like a mouse which made it hard to use.
Anyways, after some fiddling about I managed to sort it, however when I
insert the cable connected to my tv, the laptop monitor goes blank as usual,
but instead of appearing on the tv, I just get a black screen with the mouse
in the middle, and on it's side, I worked out that the TV was in Primary
portrait mode, and I need to change it to Primary landscape, I've tried a
couple of methods, but it just won't work.
I've tried: turning on speech recognition to control what I can't see, I was
in the tablet settings/display and I tried to vocally change it to primary
landscape, however when I succeeded, it came up with a warning message saying
I am unable to and must contact software stuff.
I was also in Windows mobility centre, I also tried to vocally change the
landscape there, as when the tablet is connected, it has a mode to, however
despite how many times I said "show numbers, click 19" it did nothing.
I was wondering if there is a way to connect to my display without it
automatically changing to the TV and becoming a black screen so I could
change the settings, or deleting drivers for the TV, so that I could
reinstall the Drivers so that it is normal again and I can continue.
thanks
