Default Epson C62 Printer Status Monitor i.e. ink levels

Since connecting my Epson C62 printer to Vista, the status monitor function,
which includes a monitor for the residual ink levels, does not operate. Epson
have advised me that this is a Microsoft issue. Has anybody found a solution
to get the status monitor for this printer working in Vista?

I have a C88 runninng on Vista64 and found that I have to open the
properties and click on Preferences under the printer, and then click on Get
Ink Levels. The printer has to be ON to get the results.
Hope this helps.
Kathy
