I haven't actually tried it yet. My chosen audio converter gives me a choice
between MP3 and WMA(version8) for my output file. At an uneducated guess, I would have thought the latter of the two would be the least likely to cause hiccoughs in DVD Maker. Can anyone confirm this for me, please, or (better still) recommend an audio converter which will convert the audio from .mov files directly to wma(9)? |

I forgot to mention that I'm only interested in the .mov files from the
video clips you get from inexpensive stills cameras like Kodak. "wrinklyBrit" wrote in message news ![]() I haven't actually tried it yet. Are you only interested in the audio? If you have Apple QuickTime you should be able to play the .mov clips... The following article offers a simple work around for saving the sound files: Movie Maker 2 - Importing Audio http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Importing-Audio.html (look at the right column under PapaJohn Comments beginning with "I use a shortcut") Also...the following free online converter may be useful: MediaConvert http://media-convert.com/ (for audio only...use .wav as your output) -- John Inzer |

Thanks Brian... yes, I'd be interested in your results.

Several weeks ago I started converting the MPEG4 element of .mov files to WMV9 by importing them into Movie Maker and publishing the auto movie to "this computer" (for later editing, removal of choice language, etc.). The K-Lite codec pack I've used to this end produces an audio file unrecognisable to other software (including "G Spot" and "The Video Inspector"). So the simple solution seems to be to convert the audio from the original .mov file to a file type that WMM is happy with. This facilitates synchronisation. Thanks for your suggestions:- Media-Convert is very good with no loss of bit rate - I tried it with a 1 minute videoclip. PapaJohn is currently evaluating some new MOV conversion freeware - so I'm glad you recommended his web site. I still have some testing to do. If you or PapaJohn should be interested in the results, contact me:- Thanks again Brian -- M101111GAME "John Inzer" wrote: Brian Bartholomew wrote: I forgot to mention that I'm only interested in the .mov files from the video clips you get from inexpensive stills cameras like Kodak. ===================================== I'm not clear on what you are trying to accomplish.
