Making media player as default
Hi *Ris*: I don't use quicktime but I would presume you can start it and edit the "options" or "preferences"and unassociate what you don't want to open with quicktime. You could also right click on the file you want to associate with WMP and select "open with" and point it at WMP ( make sure you click the box beside "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"). You can also open WMP and associate files from there. I like the second choice myself, but be warned some programs reassociate files if they aren't changed in the program itself. Hope this helps you. -- dbknox |

Making media player as default
Note that generally Open With in all versions of Windows is markedly inferior to using the Default Programs tools on Vista. This is because it does a shell-based association switch only, which means that clicks in the browser may not function properly. =( -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. -- "dbknox" wrote in message ...
