explorer.exe does not run on startup
Hi,
If the "shell" string does not exist under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Then you must create it. Click on the Winlogon key, then click edit/new/string and call it shell and give it a value of explorer.exe. click ok, close the registry editor and reboot. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "laughlin" wrote in message ... this regedit does not work for me either. I also looked on the second place suggested but was not a 'shell' under that Windows NT. Any other sugg.?? -- laughlin |
