Default Media Player 11 skips to next track when resuming from pause

This problem began with the service pack 1 update I believe. Anyone know how
to fix it as it's driving me crazy and made me install winamp

.. Open WMP11 on vista with SP1
.. Queue up an album of MP3 and begin playing
.. Minimise WMP11 to control panel in task bar
.. Allow song to plan for a minute then pause
.. Wait about five minutes and then resume

The song should continue playing from where it was paused, but instead it
skips to the beginning of the next track. The problem also occurs if I
maximise back to full screen mode before resuming.

Thanks.
