hello

i am trying to use "windows media player 11.0.6000.6344".i acn get music
files to play fine,but when i try play a video file i get a black screen but
i can hear the audio
playing?.i have tried to download the latest version of the meda player for
VISTA but i can only find the XP,version,can somebody give me the correct
link to this.thank you for looking.

i think what you need is the video code. try this and see if it helps
you.

thanks for the reply,but divx did not work.videos in youtube play fine,but
cannot play DVDs?.is there any other codecs i should try.thank you

I would try using VLC player for playing DVDs I find WMP doesn't play
all DVDs get VLC at the following link.

I found VLC player many years ago before DVD burners where made for
computers at a reasonable price. It was the only free player that I
could find to play "videoCDs", they have come a long way since those
days. I think you will like it!
