Default Can't play/download mp3

Hi!
I'm having a problem playing & downloading an mp3 attachment a friend sent
me via email. I'm getting this message in a yellow band 'There was a problem
playing this file. (0xC00D0FEA: "Windows Media Player encountered a problem
while downloading the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help.")' I
tried web help, media player help & microsoft but can't seem to find an
answer. Even tried looking up the errror code but can't find that either!
Hopefully someone out there can help!

Can you Save mp3 into a folder and then try to play it with WMP or other
player?

No can't save to folder, tried last night & just now & got this message in a
similar yellow box/banner 'There was a problem playing the audio file.
(0xC00D11C0: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network
error occurred. The server might not be available (for example, the server is
busy or not online) or you might not be connected to the network.") but I am
connected otherwise won't be able to write on here!!!

Is this a Vista thing? Like most things on Vista it bloody don't work!!! )
I'm on Home Premium if that helps?

You may have problems with your email service or the mp3 file is corrupted.

To test the mp3 file. Save the mp3 file to a folder. Do not open the mp3
file. Save the file. Once file is saved (such as save to desktop) trying
playing the mp3 file with a different player such as winamp.
http://www.winamp.com/player

I use Hotmail and Windows Live Mail (free) and I have no problem of opening
or saving mp3 files. No, you're problem is not a Vista thing. Vista is quite
capable of doing what you're attempting.
