Default Music Folder Album Display

Hi oscar

Can you post an image of this for us please?
I have done what you have posted about many times over the last year and
never has the pasted album art shown up on the front of the folder icon in
the Music folder.
If this is possible I would like to see it, and if I can reproduce it I will
be the first to apologize, but I have never seen it in Vista.

Chappy, you are wrong! This can be done in Vista.

If my posted instructions are done properly in the WMP Library, the album
artwork will also show in the music folders in the Music folder. It works
every time for me. It's a simple copy and paste operation which is clearly
explained in Help and Support. And there is no need to be renaming .jpg files.

OK, I’m done here…

I understand now.

Actually oscar, I think you still don't understand what he's asking. It's
not the Album art in the WMP Library he's talking about, it's the actual
Folder icon in his My Music Folder. In XP the album art could be displayed
directly on the Folder icon but in Vista you only see the folder with either
other folders inside or a file type image but it's still inside the regular
folder type icon.

@Macvegas

AFAIK, this can't be done with the Vista icon. I think you'd have to revert
back to the XP style folder icons to be able to have the album art display
directly on the artist's folder the way it used to. I haven't tested this so
I'm not exactly sure but I believe it's not possible with the new Vista icons.
What I do is I take a copy of the album art front cover and rename it
"Folder.jpg" and then have a copy inside the folder. This makes the album art
image viewable inside the folder icon like the file types images are and you
can basically see the album covers inside the main folder icon. If you have
multiple albums inside the main folder, put the folder.jpg of each album
cover inside each album's folder and then the main artist folder will show
multiple image files (the first 2 anyway) inside the main folder icon.
I hope that helps somewhat.
