Hello:
Brand new (10 days old) machine; running Vista Home Premium (32b). When I try to play wmv file I get error: "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct." Clicking web help takes me to this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...d=80070005None of these suggestions apply. Specifically, I am trying to play file offof my local hard drive and not a network. Even the sample files that camewith machine do not work.I have seen suggestions in other forums to click on "Sounds" in ControlPanel and a pop up will provide a fix. However, all I see in "Sounds" is alist of devices with no suggestions for correction. All devices working properly per Device Manager. Many thanks in advance for all who have knowledge of problem andsuggestions.Lorob |
