I can create a movie in Movie Maker but my trouble starts when I try to
publish it. I choose DVD and get a message saying that Movie Maker is closing and DVD Maker is opening. Okay so good, so far. Then DVD crashes and I get a message saying the problem is caused by a nero component with a link to update the file. When you get to the Nero site they want you to upgrade to Version 8!! Is it just me or is it crazy to send money to Nero to get a Microsoft product working??? The actual file apparently that needs updating is Nero Shared Multimedia Components. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help. -- DC |

I have used Vista MM and DVD maker numeorus times in my small business for
presentations and to give promo info to clients. I even use those two software packages for home videos and slide shows, and emailing short movies to friends and clients. They work perfectly (except for the fact that MM and DVD Maker have problems dealing with mp3 formated audio.) Yes, you're right, it sounds crazy to me to update a Nero product in order to make Vista MM or DVD maker to work. oscar ....Right click is your best friend... What's the fault bucket data-- http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket for that crash? It sounds like "somehow" a buggy old version of a Nero filter got installed. This is fairly common with a variety of shoddy codec packs that pirate Nero's work badly. You can also just remove that codec codec pack or that Nero filter. -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. -- "Dennis Cockburn" wrote in message ... You would have to update Nero here because there's a bogus old crashing Nero codec installed to the system. The multimedia stacks generally let everyone plug in, so when ApplicationQ wants to work, you hopefully don't have a broken codec from VendorX installed. In this case, Dennis did and needed to update it so that the multimedia stack wasn't polluted. -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
