Default Distorted video after burning

I downloaded a home video. I used Windows dvd burner to add some text and
when I burn it using windows I get a distorted video. Does anyone know what
would cause that and how I can correct it. I would appreciate any help you
can give me.

Mary...video is complicated and tricky but understanding a few simple
things can make things easier.

It's hard to give a proper answer to your problem because:

I have no idea where you downloaded a home movie from...let alone it's
aspect ratio and it's file type

Distorded as in... people and things are looking fatter (wider) or tall
and skinny?

What are you burning? a DVD? on a CD?

What Windows Software?

We'll start with these....
