Default UAC not allowing a startup program

I have Trillian (from Cerillian Studios) in my Startup folder so that it
begins as soon as I logon.

But the UAC is blocking it and I have to manually allow it (and confirm
it even doing it manually).

Q1: how can I get the UAC to accept Trillian as an allowed program?

Q2: if I can't - how can I at least get the program to start w/o having
to manually start it?

I presume you have a shortcut for the Trillian program in your Startup
folder. Have you right clicked the shortcut and set the option for Run
as Administrator?

You need to get a better understanding about it first:
1. How to launch Programs during the Startup
http://unlockforus.blogspot.com/2008...ms-during.html

2. There's a possibility that it will be blocked, so read this also:
http://unlockforus.blogspot.com/2008...e-startup.html

3. If you want to remove/disable start-up programs, he

I hope this helps...

So are we saying that whether or not the program lists in the startup
folder, we should be trying to find the problem program's executable,
right-click it, select compatibility tab, tick 'run as administrator?

Or am I, by a bit clearly offering help, presuming too much here and
before a program can be run as an administrator, it 'must' first list in
startup folder?

The latter, i think not, as in my Vista Ho-Prem 32b SP1 os, the startup
folder lists nothing and yet I have many many programs that start at
boot-up, and none of them save AutoRunEater are being prevented from
running by either UAC or Defender.

Of note, when I turn UAC off and configure Defender to allow a program
to run, if I recall correctly, thereafter my problem program is allowed
w/o so much as a prompt, but only so long as I do not allow Defender to
run at startup and/or allow UAC to run (as thereafter the program is
removed from Defender's allowed list, etc., etc., etc.

"What a tangled web we weave."
