64 bit

My computer runs with a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor. Windows Vista is
designed for 64 bit computing or does it have a specific version if I want to
use 64 bit, like it happens in Win XP?
And if I use Win Vista in "64 bit-mode" (if it exists), will it run
application, games and other programs, that were designed for 32-bit
computing?
Thanks for your help!

64 bit

I'm led to believe that retail boxes will have 2 discs, one 64 bit the other
32 bit (could be wrong though). The 64 bit version will run 32 bit apps,
games and programs, infact MS provide 32 and 64 bit versions of IE, Media
player.

The strangest thing about this is by default in 64 Vista it will open 32 bit
versions of IE and media player, even though there are 64 bit versions
installed.

64 bit

latest word if you have to request the 64 bit version from Microsoft, not included in retail boxes.

The 64 bit version will be included in the retail box with all versions.
