Default Removing files from WMC???

I have pictures that I do not want on the windows media center,,,, as well as
system pictures that are needless. How do I remove them from WMC.

I have rerun the setup feature for it, and have told WMC not to look at
these folders, but it continues to pull files out of these folders.

You could just be seeing the thumbnails of the original pictures.

Media Center stores thumbnail images in
C:\Users\youraccount\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ehome \Image.db

Close Media Center, rename Image.db to Image.db.old and MC will rebuild
it the next time you start.

note: \AppData is normally hidden

Dave that sounded like an awesome answer,,,, but to no avail... image.db does
not exist in that folder.

I know, like stated before, that I only told the mc to look at one folder,
and yet when I play tunes and a slide show together, they all come up....

DOH

I think WMC shares files from WMP library such as Playlist.

Go to WMC Library setup, select the Folders that you want watched and
uncheck the Folders that you don’t want watched. That probably won’t clear it
up right away.

Try this:
Go to WMPlayer Library tab Pictures Folder View right click folder
that you don't want to appear and "delete from library only"

Also: WMPLibrary tabmore optionsLibrarymonitor folders uncheck “add
files previously deleted from library”

You can do this for more control of WMP Library:
Library tab more options Player uncheck “add media files to Library when
played”

I had same problem with WMC music slide show. Now it’s cleared up on my
machine. Music slide show now shows only images from my Pictures folder.

Hope it works. Let me know if it does or doesn’t.

Oscar awesome man, that took care of it perfectly.... what crap to realize
that it mimics what is in that library on the player...

You would figure when running the initial setup, and checking the folders
taht you want to watch, that it would only watch those folders....

Well I cant complain,,, my first real gripe so far with Vista.

Again thanks Oscar!!!

Glad it worked out.

There's scant information about how WMC and WMP shares files. I've found
that the best way to work with WMC is to eliminate all the Library folder
options and use WMC defaults. Less confusion down the road. Put all the
Music, Pictures and Videos that you want to view with WMC in those respective
folders. Same with WMP. After that, those two programs work well.

cheers...
