Can someone please explain to me how does the Little networking Icon knows
when i'm connected to the internet and not to my Corpnet (By displaying the
little globe thingie...)?

This is based on whether your IP is global or local
(like 10.x.x.x )

But my IP can by local and still it will connect to the internet
