I recently downloaded some video from my camcorder using Movie Maker
to get it on to the PC and edit it. I then published the edited video to DVD with DVD Maker. My video encoded and DVD maker burned it to DVD-R as expected, however, while it plays fine on the PC it does not play on my stand alone DVD player because DVD Maker didn't finalize the DVD. This is a recent problem, I've produced many DVDs from my camcorder using Movie Maker and DVD Maker and this is the first time it hasn't worked on the stand alone player. My system hasn't changed other than auto updates. It seems this is a known issue, but not one I had previously, and there is a hotfix for it which I downloaded. When I try and install the hotfix I'm told my PC doesn't need it. I assume that it's already been installed due to auto update being on. Is there a fix for this? Movie Maker and DVD Maker meet my needs without any additional software. I do not have Nero or any other paid for burning software on My PC as it's never been necessary before. To get round this problem I installed ImgBurn and DVD Flick. Can anyone help sort out the issue with DVD Maker? -- Regards Nick |

What specific hotfix does it tell you to apply? -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
