I have 4 computers connected to my router, 2 wireless, 2 wired, plus an xbox wired (xbox isnt important here), i have been trying to get my media sharing to work, so that i can play my music from various computers on other computers. At the moment all devices can connect to one(wired) computer and play its music, the other wired device can see all connected devices, but can only connect to the one wired one. one laptop can connect to the one wired, *but* only sees that device and "other users of this PC", despite having all devices connected to the same network. the other laptop can view the one it can connect to, and the other wired computer, and "other users of this PC", but it cannot play music from the other wired device. Aslo, the one wired computer that every device can connect to, can see and allow all other devices, but they dont show up in the library. internet ------- router --wired-- computer1 & computer2 .........................| .........................----wireless-- computer3 & computer4 overall. #1,2 see all devices but can only play media from #1 #3 cant see any but #1 #4 cant see any but #1,2 and cannot connect to #2 i have media sharing enabled on all devices, i have everything possibly enabled to have them look for new devices, and i made the network private so that it can work. windows firewall is turned on for all and media player 11 is allowed in its settings. all computers run *Vista* all help is appreciated, thankyou. -- JBone ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JBone's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?u=53090 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=1001502 http://forums.techarena.in |
