So the laptaps are connected to a Server 2003 machine sharing the Xerox
printer correct? Can the laptops ping the Server 2003 machine when the printers go offline? -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Hi alan, yes, the laptops are connected to the server 2003 but when i started to check the printer it has its own IP address, i dont know what it means but i think the printer can stand on its own. i suspect it might be the driver? its not compatible with vista? the printer is already old and i cant find the updated driver on the xerox site. that's possible. Xerox has some software that will actually hit the printer
before sending a job to the printer shared on the server. Normally MS disables this feature on the Printer Properties Configuration. Bi-Directional Setup. If you can disable this on the print server, the client won't attempt to communicate to with the printer. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. I doubt it. If the notebooks are running a wireless network this could be
the issue with connectivity. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
