Gary, Did the Procrit come in? Did it give you more energy? I hope so.
I don't expect you to solve this for me. I just wanted to keep you updated on what I am doing and what directions I get from the newsgroup, in case there are directions I should not follow. my recent post to : microsoft.public.windows.vista.music_pictures_vide o I have a new desktop Dell XPS420. It came with a 750gb hd. and 4gb ram. I run Vista Ultimate. I added a 1tb hd. I partitioned. OS 750GB = C on the 1tb I have D E F G H ---picture slots T U V W dvd/cd rw X & Y ...I am working on getting an external Hard Drive of 500GB but don't want to back up until I get all of my pictures in one place. (about 3,000) G = Pictures I transferred data from my old Dell Windows 98. My Pictures were in C:/Ginny Documents/My Pictures...and then subfolders I have not yet found a picture editing program that I am comfortable with on my new machine. Nor have I found a good way to store these pictures in an organized manor, so I can find them. When I enter Search (for Pictures) - I come up with : C /Backup/ old win98/ Ginnys Documents /my pictures C/users/ginnyrn/saved games/pictures (I don't play games and have no idea why my pictures would be in "saved games"!?) C/users/ginnyrn/appData/local/microsoft/windows/burn/tempburn folder (I have not burned any pictures - I did put some on a flash drive) and G/Pictures and Ginnyrn/AppData/Roaming/Adobe Most importantly, how can I get all of my pictures into G:/Pictures or at least all in one place. Could you tell me how I can get them all in G:/Pictures - then I can use a duplicate finder to eliminate duplicates. Will they all open if I move them there? Can you tell me how to move them there? I need a program where I can resize them and edit them ,make them manageable sizes for e-mailing, making collages, or printing them. (I used to use Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition) In this new machine I Have: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Adobe Premier elements 4 Adobe (old) Photo Deluxe 4.0 to import from Camedia Olympus camera I use Camedia master I use IfranView to change photo numbers into thumbnails (can I set Vista Ultimate to do this with all pictures automatically?) Adobe bridge Cs3 (I don't know what that is) Windows Media Center Windows Photo Gallery Please give step by step instructions. Any and all help is appreciated but I expect I need an MVP. (All of these partitions were done by an MVP, so I know they are right. I somehow have just messed up my pictures by trying out all these new programs. I can't believe there is no way to resize in Premier elements or Photoshop Elements. |
