There are lots of tuners on the market that do not meet the specs to be
supported by Media Center.
What make and model tuner did you get?

The problem is not with the stick as i know other who have manged to use the
same stick, the problem is that the tv menus/options in media player are
completely missing (vista version) i have seen similar problems discussed in
here but normally xp related and the fix does not work in Vista, basically,
the menu should have tv+movie but the tv bit is missing, any ideas?

If you don't want to tell us the make/ model of the stick then we can't help
you very easily.
Since you know others that have it working with MC then I suggest you ask
them how they got it to work.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your unit from the Hauppauge UK
site. If they do not resolve the problem see if you can run the Hauppauge
WinTV application instead of MC using these drivers.
