Default Audio Streaming Locks up Router

I hope this is the correct area in which to post this...my apologies in
advance if not...

I am using an old Linksys BEFW11s4v4 wireless router, with XP and Vista
systems working well with it...except, I have tried to use XM radio for audio
streaming, and it causes the router to freeze and require the old "uplug and
plug back in" fix of the router. I have no problems audio streaming via the
XP system through the router.

I do have the most recent firmware installed in the router.

I assume that I need to get a new router that is specifically Vista
compatible, but obviously I do not want to get one and find that I still have
the same problem, i.e. that possibly it is somehow actually a Vista issue.

Thanks so much in advance for any thoughts.

Default Audio Streaming Locks up Router

Thanks so much for trying to help.

Actually, the Vista and XP systems are both CAT-5 cabled into the router...I
only use wireless for an XP notebook I also use at times...

The whole scenario is rather confusing...Have you been audio streaming in
general, or specifically from XM Radio? I have no trouble with other audio
and video streams...XM Radio claims to only work with XP, not Vista, but
there is a Vista gadget for XM radio, so SOMEBODY obviously gets it to
work...thus, I assume it must be the router.

Then again, this is not a technology area with which I have intimate
knowledge.

I use an old Linksys wireless router from before the days of XP with Vista
and have not problems as long as the signal strength is enough and I have no
interference from neighbors.
You might try changing the wireless channel to channel 1 or channel 10.
