Default Vista problems

I have just about finished with Vista RC1 Build #5600. The OS continually
locks up stops responding or problems with hardware. I have totally
reinstalled Vista I have repaired Vista and still I have problems. I have
just looked in the Problem Reports and Solutions to find I have 128 Events
(after 2 days) including

1. Stopped responding and was closed
2. Stopped working
3. Program compatability problem
4. Unable to diagnose/repair network problem
5. Shutdown unexpectedly
6. Video Hardware error
7. WERCWEvent

I have sent reports to Microsoft looking for a solution but none found.

The PC has to be shutdown because of 1&2
Some software will not run even if I run as administrator or WinXP
compatability mode.
My wireless network will shut down for no apparent reason and cannot repair
and will only come back on restart (this is my 4th attempt this morning to
send this post).
I get the dreaded blue screen of death at least once a day while trying to
do even the most mundane of tasks like typing a letter.
As a result of the "video hardware error" I purchased another $250 ATI X800
video card installed the latest drivers from ATI and still have the same
problem so now I have 2 what looks like incompatible cards even though ATI
and Microsoft say its compatable (also tried Vista's own video drivers).
And the error "WERCWEvent" dont ask me what this one is.

I have tried to get hold of Microsoft via email but after 3 weeks I doubt I
will get any kind of answer and yes I do know that the software is
unsupported but I would have at least expected an email saying that the
software is unsupported by MS.

I have a P4M800PRO-M mainboard with a Dual Core 3 gig processor and 2 gig
(2X1gig) DDR2 ram ATI X800 256meg AGP card and a 500W power supply.

Can anyone throw some light onto why these problems occur before I throw the
OS in the bin and reformat the drive and go back to XP?

Paul,

RC1 is ancient. Test the release on MSDN. It's exponentially more stable.

Honestly,

You're better off not messing with an install of RC1. If you are that
deadset I'd recommend installing XP, then installing vmware. Set it up to
run inside a virtual machine. Really RC1 is quite unstable/unusable compared
to final.

Like I said it is available off MSDN depending on what kind of subscription
you have or the license your institution has available.
