Default CPU cooler/temps?

What CPU cooler are you using and what are your temps?
I'm using a Vigor gaming 92mm Monsoon II and I've been happy with it
for over a year but here lately my temps have been above "my" normal.

I've checked my fan speed and all that, so I'm kinda wondering if it
might be going bad. I know how that sounds but mine is a Thermal
Electric so it's not just a heatsink and fan combo.

Idle 38*
Heavy Load 3DMark06 during 1st CPU test 59*

When I first got it my temps:
Idle 29*
Heavy Load 3DMark06 during 1st CPU test 42*

59 degrees is on the warm side, but not enough to worry about. It is well
within the operating parameters of the processor.

When I first got it my temps:
Idle 29*
Heavy Load 3DMark06 during 1st CPU test 42*

HOWEVER, the fact that is has got higher is most likely caused by dust
build-up on the heatsink and fan. Blow them completely clean with a
compressed air can and a vacuum cleaner.

Also, some heatsink compounds degrade over time. If cleaning doesn't sort
it out, consider removing the heatsink assembly, cleaning all the old
compound off and replacing it with a smear of the best you can afford.

There is no dust I keep my PC's cleaned out on a quarterly schedule.
I've also removed my heatsink and replaced my compound about a week ago
and temps are about the same.

that's what i have......

the only downer with this cooler is the push pins ...for some reason
they seem far to stiff (i have 2 of them)

but they certainly work well...

that's also a nice cooler obviously the full copper construction stacks
up the price....

but in all honesty most good HSFs will cool to about the same (give or
take a few degrees)

it depends on more variables than just the cooler....i.e.

ambient temps
cable management
case fan configuration

You might clean up and reapply the thermal compound. Your fan usually makes
a noise when it is going bad.
