I recently moved into Vista and was happily restoring with software and hardware. I tried installing my old Lexmark printer 74-75 just for the scanner. My other printer is a Samsung CLP300. The Lexmark won't install and then I found out they were not going to make any driver for Vista! ![]() OK! I can live without it. Then I find my computer freezes every so often and I was advised to remove Lexmark from the regedit and the sys32 folder. I have no printing ability at all now and I suspect that the answer to my problem would be to replace the items from sys32. I believe there were 6 items all starting lex...... Is there a way to retrieve them or obtain them from another source? -- Garth |

OK, forget this one. matter of fact is I couldn't get the print spooler to work. I followed this advice and yay, I have my samsung back in the printer folder and working. Click Start and press Run Type sc config spooler depend= RPCSS Then select run and type services.msc Find "Print Spooler", right click and properties. and on 'general tab' press start. Unplug the printers USB and re-connect it everything was fine after that. I hope this helps someone else too. -- Garth |
