Attempting to run program from cd which includes a video module. While i
can hear the audio, i am unable to view the video getting subject
message. I have downloaded vista_codecs_v472 with same result. Anyone
have any ideas ?
I'm using Vista home edition, 32bit

I recommend the K-Lite Codec Pack: http://codecguide.com

This codec is old and broken and won't work properly.

You will not be able to get this codec to work *fully* on Windows pretty
much no matter what. You would want to ask the content provider to reencode
it to a different codec, not try to play that much of content, or play it on
an older machine.

As far as I'm aware this is one of the older codecs with serious bugs that
correspondingly has limited/broken functionality, sorry.

try installing powerDVD, that has a decoder that you might be missing on
you computer.

What are you suggesting that would possibly do that would do anything
positive here given that the codec in question is already on the computer
and simply will not and can not be made to work fully?

Codec packs are not magic bullets.
