Hi I am running an XP Home SP3 with a Dell A940 printer connected via USB. I have a Dell Laptop running Vista Home Premium that can see the network but when I try to add a printer I get the message "Windows cannot connect to the printer, Operation Could not be completed 0x0000000d" I am also running Norton 2008 Internet security on both machines. In the past I have been able to print from both but somethings changed and I dont know when or what as I dont print from the laptop that often but need to now. I have downloaded the VISTA drivers from dell on the laptop and it all installs but will not print. I'm really stuck so would appreciate any help. -- cookie666 |

Also, run the XP’s Home or Small Office Network File and Printer Sharing
Wizard to include Vista in your “New” Network, even if you had an XP Network set up prior to adding a Vista computer to it(redoing the Wizard seems to work for XP machines!). In “My Network Places”: “Set up a Home or Small Office Network” OR under Accessories Communications Network Setup Wizard Allow File and Printer Sharing. Also in Norton, in your profile firewall exceptions, make sure LAN, or file and printer sharing, is allowed -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "cookie666" wrote: Hi I am running an XP Home SP3 with a Dell A940 printer connected via USB.
