Problems installing HP 1320n on Vista
I have connected the printer to the USB port, but Vista does not
detect the printer automatically. When I looked in the Hardware Management (in danish Enhedshåndtering) on the IEEE 1284.4 port, the printer is visible. I tryied install it by doing the following actions: Add printer Choose LPT1 I downloaded the latest drivers from HP and chose "have disk..." I chose the printer And followed the last steps succesfully However, when I try to print a test page, the printer status changes to Error. I hope that you can help me out here.... Thanks |

You're supposed to install the required software BEFORE connecting the
printer to the PC http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...&swEnvOID=2093 -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging www.coribright.com/windows wrote in message ... It sounds like you have the driver set to use LPT1: rather then the USB port. Go to Start, Settings, Printers, right click on the 1320, Properties, Ports and select the appropriate USB port. Regards, Bob Headrick, MS MVP Printing/Imaging Hi Bob, That last link from the MS Technet forum did the trick. Thank you very much for your fast response. This was the first time I tried to post a problem to a news group ever. And it will certainly not be the last time. Regards, Kim Ranch Olsen |
