"HID data has stopped working" - bluetooth mouse error

Another way to fix this porblem is simple by changing file name from
"hiddata" to other names, such as "hiddata_", in "C:\Program
Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch Buttons" folder and then reset
your MS mouse again, error message will disappear ...
Best
:)

"HID data has stopped working" with headset

I have an HP dv9700z laptop with Vista Ultimate 64bit installed. I'm up to
date all on all updates for Vista, including SP2. I bought a "Plantronics
Ccordless Headset". Everytime I hit the play music button, after 2 seconds
it goes to pause. I need help. Dreadpyrat did you find anything that might
help?

Hi all,

I bought a Microsoft blue tooth notebook mouse 5000 and installed it.
It works fine except that as soon as it connects, I get this meesage:

"hid data has stopped working"

Then it asks me to close the program. The mouse still works however, up
until the next time I reboot. Then I have to repeat the installation all
over again.

I installed Intellipoint drivers as suggested on an HP laptop forum -
no fix
I searched Google and Microsoft's knowledge base...nothing.

I'm at a loss, can anyone help?

"HID data has stopped working" - bluetooth mouse error

Like many of you, I searched and searched for a legitimate way to solve
the "HID data has stopped working" error. I am pleased to report that
my system is running fine now and no longer gets this annoying message.

I apoligized if a similar suggestion has been posted previously, but
here goes.

Soon after I bought my new laptop - HP dv5, I decided to see if my
iPhone (another toy) would sync up via blue tooth. I was able to pair
the devices but no luck with the sync. I abandoned my effort, but did
not disable the blue tooth connection between the iPhone and the laptop.
I also never made the connection between when the problem started and
the day I paired the devices. WahLah.

I went into the *control panel* under *Hardware and Sound, then to Blue
Tooth. *I removed the iPhone pairing, and there ya go. No more issues,
and I did not have to disable any other features on my laptop.

Although the hint was a bit vague, I found some good stuff on HP.com
under stupport on this topic. If you do not have a similar issue as
me, or choose not to disable a blue tooth device (because you need it),
they likely have a fix in the list of suggestions. Link is listed
below.

'HP Notebook PCs*-* Error: HIDData.exe has stopped working*'

There is also a new patch at Microsoft that my be of interest

If you are using Broadcom's Bluetooth chip...

http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

The installer will check to see if you are using their chip and if you are,
it will download the latest software and drivers.

If you're still having problems, send them a feedback. The contact
information/email address is on their webpage.

I am very thankful for this forum. I just bought an HP dv7 yesterday and
ran into this error with my Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse
8000. Moving the files to another folder and adding a ".old" extension
cured my problem. As far as I can tell, I have not lost any
functionality.

I was not a member of this forum, but I purposely became a member to
offer my gratitude. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the
64-bit version of Vista Home Premium to print to my HP Color LaserJet
2840...

Onto the next forum! Thanks again guys. Much appreciated.

Just going to the Microsoft Knowledge Base and typing Bluetooth into
the search field will help with Microsoft Patches.

Look for the x32 or x64 whatever your system is.

A Google search for Microsoft Patch Bluetooth (x32 or x64)

"HID data has stopped working" - bluetooth mouse error

Well, almost a year later (now August 25, 2009) and HP or Microsoft
hasn't fixed the "HID DATA has stopped workiing" error. The only thing
that fixed it for me is the post by Hyosaboro below. It works and I
still have Quick Launch functionality.

I just bought a new HP DV6-1230US laptop, installed a new Bluetooth USB
adapter and then parred my Logitech Travel mouse and the problems began.
I tried the HP download site for new software and bios downloads and
even the HP update of the Quick Launch Buttons software which
successfully downloaded and installed, updating the files by about a
year on average...BUT IT DIDN"T FIX THE PROBLEM!

I also tried the MicroSoft updates also mentioned in this forum in
other posts but they were not applicable either.Well, good reading and
good advise here. Thanks to Hyosboro and others for their expert help!

Hyosaburo;3980436 Wrote:
I was having the same problem with my bluetooth microsoft wireless

in the HP quick launch Buttons.* I removed the application from the

Buttonsmove the following files to a backup folder on your
computer:HidActn.dllHiddataPushHid.dllThen restart you computer and you
should not have the errors and the other things on your laptop should
still be available.

"HID data has stopped working" - bluetooth mouse error

What is HID? I just installed my Microsoft Laser rechargeable 8000 mouse
which I love since I don't need batteries all the time. I'm ignoring the
error right now and am not having any problems. Does the Targus mouse
come in a rechargeable model?
