Uninstall Drive, it automatically reinstalls
I have 3 drives mapped with drivers installed, but I do not actually have these devices. I go into device manager to uninstall the driver and the device, it works, but then immediately the driver is automatically re-installed. This is for Vista Home Premium. How do I stop the auto install from happening so I can uninstall the drives? These drives are for backup drives that I do not have. -- kentest |

If you do, each slot will have installed as a separate disk drive with it's own letter. You can't delete them without disabling the card reader. |

Hi Ken, You can hide the drives by deleting there drive letter under disk managment, Goto the start-menu and right-click Computer and select Management, From there just goto Disk Management and remove the Drives Letter....The device you have needs to be completely unplugged before it will uninstall completely however Steven -- dmex '[image: /presenceimage?mkt=en-AU]' (http://settings.messenger.live.com/C....com&mkt=en-AU) |
