Default Ping general failure

I recently experienced a ping "General failure" whenever I tried to ping
my own wireless interface on Vista. This happened despite having
connection to the Internet and I could still ping the loopback
interface.

Having read some of the posts here, I solved the problem by disabling
Norton firewall that came with the PC- I disable it permanently knowing
that Vista provides its own firewall. Problem solved!
