After you have re-set your screen resolution the screen usually goes black
then the screen re-appears in the new resolution. At this point Vista starts counting down (I think its around 30 seconds) giving you time to view he changes to see if you like them. You should also see a box asking you 'do you wish to keep these changes?' At this point you need to click the OK button to confirm that you wish to keep your new resolution settings. If you click No the the screen reverts back to normal. It also does the same thing if you allow the 30 second time out to expire without pressing the OK button. -- -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org Web: http://www.silversurferguide.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". 286) I have the same problem and I have pressed the appropriate buttons to
save the settings. I purchased a laptop in January with Vista and until the last update (KB937was able to keep the settings between reboots. As of last weekend I'm loosing the settings every time I turn the machine on. I'm very disappointed with this last change and I still can't get over the lack of a smaller resolution being available as I'm used to using very small type. This latest issue is just another issue with Vista. I'm lloking for another operating system as Vista is not for me. Thanks "al69er" wrote: when i start my pc my resolution is 1440x900 i change it to 800x600 but every time i reboot it goes back to 1400x900 how can i keep it at 800x600 |
