is there a place to find a pilot for HP scanjet 5300c Thanks I'm not sure what you mean by "a pilot". If you're talking about drivers, according to this HP webpage your scanner is not supported in Vista. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=58381&lang=en Time to purchase a new scanner that works in your operating system. I am aware that hp wants you to buy a new one, but I do not see why I should. I am trying to find a way to go around . Thank you |

Thank you There is no way "around" not having the correct drivers. Drivers tell an operating system how to use a particular piece of hardware. In some cases you can use drivers for an older operating system; i.e., in your case drivers for XP. On some printer models this works. I've never heard that it works for scanners but it will cost nothing for you to try. Make a System Restore point first. Some people have reported success using VueScan. http://www.hamrick.com/ VueScan isn't free but there is a trial version so you can see if it works for you. VueScan is $80, so it might be more cost-effective to purchase a new scanner. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |
