VOB Files
Hi folks,
Can anyone explain to me why Windows Explorer can show a thumbnail of a VOB file (and therefore interpret the file), but Windows Media Player is unable to play it? |

VOB Files
WMP will play it as long as it's not copy protected. Change the .vob
extension to .mpg. wrote in message ... Hi folks, Can anyone explain to me why Windows Explorer can show a thumbnail of a VOB file (and therefore interpret the file), but Windows Media Player is unable to play it? |

VOB Files
I knew about the .mpg trick, but I can't get anything to play if it still
has the .VOB extension, copy protected or not. Not a big deal really, but just wondered why it doesn't work in WMP, but Explorer can display a thumbnail. "Tim" wrote in message ... VOB Files
Yeah my issue is that i have vob's from my sony dvd handycam and i can not play them anymore or burn them with DVD Maker. My old computer had Xp, all was great back then. NOTHING to do with copyright here?? Vista is just junk!!! All Microsoft has to do is make a fix for this petty crap and it would be very helpful. -- vobsfrommycamcorder Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

VOB Files
You can browse to your VOBs in Windows Movie Maker by using Show All Files in the Import Files... window, and then save them out as WMVs that should work fine with DVD Maker. VOBs aren't really designed to be useful for DVD Maker, so you're kind of trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. But via the above you should be able to get it working. -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
