Windows Live OneCare 90 day trial:
http://www.windowsonecare.com/purcha..._cid=mscom_dlc
It ran well on my system...switched out to AVG Free because I have five
partitions, (three OS), and it allows more control on just what to scan. If
you don't multi boot, OneCare has a lot of well thought out features, and
intergrates well with Vista....I think.

Avast! is even compatible with the 64 bit version of Vista.
Best of all, there is a worthy free version!

Second best, you may choose the language for installing Avast! 4.7 and
look forward to a smooth voice announcing in English or French or
German or... that 'the virus data base has been updated' (if the
speakers are ON;-).

I am now using the complete version of AVG which includes a firewall,
internet security and anti-spam that's pretty good. I expect to buy when the
trial expires.

I don't know why, but I have a definite block against AVG. I used One Care
for a while, but ultimately found it too user friendly (i.e. annoying).
Right now I'm using ClamWin. Not sure how great an Antivirus originally
designed for Linux is, but it seems to function fine.
