Windows Vista - Keystrokes

For some reason, my @ keystroke comes up at " and my " comes up as @.
How do I correct this please.

You have to use the keyboard language applicable to your country of
residence..

Control Panel Regional and Language Keyboards and languages tab Change
keyboards button..

If you have your keyboard set as US change it to UK and vica versa.
