i have a windows vista premium 32bit and whenever i try to install or
uninstall something, this message would show. "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." i tried downloading windows installer 4.5 Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x64.msu Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x86.msu i clicked download for both of them, but then it says: The update does not apply to your system. what should i do? |

What is the status of your Windows Installer service Should be in Manual
AFAIK. The message you are getting probable means that 942288 is already installed on your system. Was probably installed by Win Update.
