Hi,
I have used SSH to map a network drive on a remote windows machine successfully for the last year or so, following the instructions he http://www.blisstonia.com/eolson/notes/smboverssh.php In brief, one adds a loopback network interface, then uses SSH to listen on this interface on port 445 and forward any connections to the remote machine. This seems to have been broken by Vista SP1 and by KB942624 which block access to port 445. Is there any way to restore access to port 445 for port forwarding? Alternatively, is there any way to install Vista SP1 without this broken patch? Best wishes, Chris. |

Hi Chris, I too am irritated and frustrated by this with Vista and am currently trying to get something done about it on the MS forums. I request you to visit my thread and annoy the crap out of them until they do something about it, http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...teID=17&mode=1 -- seaders ------------------------------------------------------------------------ seaders's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/seaders.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...rk/1042227.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
