Externnal USB Hard disk doesn't show up anywhere
Hello... Seagate USB external drive ST3400601U2 doesn't show up anywhere in Disk Management, Device Manager or in Explorer of the Sony VGN-CR363 Laptop with pre-installed Windows Vista Home Premium. Can anyone please help? Thanks a lot -- ratanmaitra

Externnal USB Hard disk doesn't show up anywhere
I had an external 2 1/2 inch external drive from Maxtor (One Touch III) It
didn't show up in explorer - or anywhere. If I connected up "both" USB plugs to two USB ports - it showed up but was still unusable. AND, the damn stores that sell these things (Best Buy, Circuit City etc.) do not have the external power supplies that Maxtor tells you to use if you have operational problems. The damn drive needed more power than my USB ports supply and therefore would not function.
