Hi,
Just got my first Vista PC and was wondering the best way to move Users (my kids) over to vista from XP. Do I create users first on vista and copy all their dir's over or will the files and settings transfer wizard be better? Any resource to help with these kind of questions? Thanks Ward |

You're one hell of a FOOL to want to move from XP to Vista. Stay put. I
have an XP machine. My kids have Vista. They are constantly having to turn off their machines off manually and then turn them on again. Their laptops simply freeze ... once or twice every couple hours. It's maddening. Inexcusable. Stay with XP. "Ward" wrote in message ... Hi,
In order to migrate users from windows XP to Vista, we can consider using Easy Transfer. Windows Easy Transfer helps you easily move the files and settings stored on your PC running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or even Windows Vista to a new PC running Windows Vista. Windows Easy Transfer will automatically transfer things like: 1. User accounts 2. Files and folders 3. E-mail messages, settings, and contacts 4. Photos, music, and videos 5. Windows settings 6. Program data files and settings 7. Internet settings There are several ways that you can use Windows Easy Transfer; choose the way you prefer to connect your two PCs, choose the data you want to transfer, and then let Windows Easy Transfer do the work for you.
