Why is Vista so snarky about connecting to a shared Windows 98 printer wired
to a Win98 PC ? It gives some unintelligible error message. I did figure out how to configure a local printer port on the Vista PC to connect to the Win98 printer share but why such heroics are required is beyond me. It also seems that the local printer port trick works with my Vista 32 bit PC but not my Vista 64 bit PC. Why should that happen, since the Vista 64 bit PC has the driver for the Win98 printer ? |
