Hi Bughaters and Welcome to the forums, arty:

If you would please post further details as to any error messages you
receive it will allow someone to better help you with this issue

Another alternative is the free CCleaner details 'Here '
(http://www.ccleaner.com/)which to be honest is better than windows own
offering

Default Windows Disk Cleanup doesn't work

I am having the same problem
I have a Dell latitude E6400 with Ulitimate 32bit.
When I select this program from the program menu
cleanmgr.exe
from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools

It gives me a choice to select -- My Files only -- or --Files from all
users ---
The error message below happens no matter which of the two choices I
select. The error happens 100% of the time.

Disk Space Cleanup Manager for Windows has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Please help me get Vista to work
