Default Lexmark 4500 series printer solution

*-Hi to all new Lemark installations. I just want to share my
experience. I purchased a X4560 Wireless Printer, great printer for my
needs. There was a sticker on the box that said...."10 minutes to
install" which was true if you hook up a usb connector...but I wanted a
wireless hook-up....well it took me a phone call to Lexmark Support
(overseas..no help), a lot of cussing, trial and error and a 5 minute
call to my DSL provider for a total of 4 hours. Firstly follow the CD
install instructions carefully, make sure that the SSID number on
printer and your computer are same and make sure your WEP number is
correct. The WEP is the number on your wireless router. Guess what....I
kept installing my WEP printed on the Router...wrong!!!! For some
unknown reason the WEP number was entered as my home phone number when
the router was installed. The DSL rep guided me to the Router's Web
Site/Wireless Security Section to verify the WEP number and ..Wah
La...there it was, I installed the corrected WEP and it fired right
up.-*
*-Hope this helps:geek:-*
