hello,
i have a factory build of vista ultimate that shows an error right out of the box. it reads: The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Event ID: 7000 the laptop does not have a parallel port. is there a windows update fix for this? -- Steve |

It's not causing your system any problems. DDW -- Reply via this group No email please |

appreciate the response, but i have no way of telling whether it is causing
any problems. i am guesssing that if there is an error in the event viewer, there is a problem somewhere in the system. looking for a fix for this from microsoft if it is a problem with vista. -- Steve "DDW" wrote: On Fri, 26 Sep 2008 00:55:00 -0700, Steve wrote: hello, i have a factory build of vista ultimate that shows an error right out of the box. it reads: The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. It is not a problem. It is an annoyance. BTW... I installed Vista on this machine a few months ago and I saw that error too... but I have a parallel port but it's not being used. I went into the BIOS and disabled the port. The ANNOYANCE went away. DDW -- Reply via this group No email please |

So why didn't you tell the OP about it? Small "problem" with admitting when you might have been overly brusque with your reply, perhaps? |
