Default Vista is slow accessing network shares

I am running Vista business at work, on a HP laptop. I am experiencing a
major problem accessing files on network drives. It takes forever to
open a file from the domain's network drive, or somethings it just hangs
there (such as I open an excel file, it will just show as "Not
Responding"). Surfing the web is very fast, so not sure what's wrong
with the network on my computer.

I did these already as someone suggested:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
Disable IPv6
Disabling Remote Differential Compression

but wouldn't help at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Vista is slow accessing network shares

After wasting so much time installing Vista SP1 and hotfixes, which
totally have no help at all to the problem, I finally found the right
solution.

To those who had the same problem, try changing your network adapter
from 100mbps full duplex (mine is default originally) to Auto instead.
That solved the slow access problem right the way.

This setting should be changed under the device properties via Device
manager.
1) Right click on "Computer" under the start menu and select
"Properties".
2) Under the "Hardware" tab, Select and open "Device manager"
3) Click the plus sign next to "Network Adapters"
4) Right click on your NIC and goto Properties
5) Click on the "Configure" button. Choose the Advanced tab, and look
for an item that mentions "Duplex & Link speed". Change it to "Auto".
