Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor E4700
The new HP that I purchased eleven days ago has failed. Micro Center says it is no longer available. They are offering an Acer with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor in it as a comparable unit. The HP had a dual Pentium chip. Is there a difference between the Core and the Pentium? I was under the impression the Pentium was still -the- Intel chip to buy. What I purchased eleven days ago; 'Micro Center - Pavilion a6500f' (http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0291252) What Micro Center is now offering; 'Micro Center - DX4640-UB201A' (http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0295987) These don't seem comparable to me. -- Jan Vigne |

Thanks. Looking around a bit more I found Intel's opinion here; 'Intel Brains — Processor Technology Rating' (http://brains.intel-brains.com/index...s/index/DT/130) Any opinion on Acer's products? -- Jan Vigne |

Does that answer your question? I always think that it is a good idea to go with the manufacturer who has the best support web site, and HP scores in this area very highly in my opinion.. way better than Dell or Acer.. -- Mike Hall - MVP How to construct a good post.. http://dts-l.com/goodpost.htm How to use the Microsoft Product Support Newsgroups.. http://support.microsoft.com/default...help&style=toc Mike's Window - My Blog.. http://msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/default.aspx |
