I believe its a dll connected with the Intel Graphics Accelerator, and as
such your PC would appear to have a video driver problem, any updates on Dell site for your specific Tag#? Who said reinstall? Yes, I get the same problem... brand new Dell Inspiron 1525, Vista Home Premium 32bit (SP1). The error appears immediately after going into Windows for the first time. Before anything else has been installed (before updates). For me the error dialog appears 4 times. The suggestion to reinstall is part of the Windows error. Windows Update has since installed 17 security updates, 3 optional updates (including Intel) and 8 microsoft software updates - but no change to this error which I get everytime I go into Windows. I also get this same error when I try to view Intel graphics properties via Control Panel. However, the machine does seem to operate OK once the error has been closed and the Intel control panel applet does work (as far as I can tell). I think the error occurs at startup because of an application that tries to run in the notification area / system tray. We do not seem to be alone on this. I have seen posts on other forums (in fact 'this thread here' (http://www.vistax64.com/vista-perfor...ed-errors.html) for one) regarding new machines (not just Dell) and also after Windows Updates that appear to suffer this problem. However, I have not seen a solution and cannot find any updated drivers? What I find amazing (like the OP) is that this is a brand new machine without any additional software/hardware installed. I'll post the full error message later, but to be honest if I don't find a quick solution by tomorrow I'm going to be on Dell's ass! -- w3d |
