I have Vista Home Premium running on my laptop. I have an HP C5280 All-in-One printer on a desktop Vista machine. When I go through the control panel to printers and select "add printer", I get this error message: Windows can't open Add Printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x000000c1) What is going on? Thanks! -- akreiling ------------------------------------------------------------------------ akreiling's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/akreiling.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-print-fax/1049501.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

I have followed Bruce Sanderson's "Clean Printer Drivers" instructions (note: the script does not work on Vista but I followed his instructions on manually editing the registry) and I still get the same error message! Any other suggestions? -- akreiling ------------------------------------------------------------------------ akreiling's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/akreiling.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-print-fax/1049502.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

Hi akr, just wondering did you goto start-control panel-classic
view-printers then right click anywhere on a blank area and select-run as administrator- then add printer? "akreiling" wrote in message ... Okay, I tried the run as... suggestion. This time I received a "printui.exe - Bad image" error message. It states: C:\Windows\system32\tcpmonui.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your sys admin. Hmm, where does the system get tcpmonui.dll ? Please don't say I have to reinstall Vista! *smile* Amy -- akreiling ------------------------------------------------------------------------ akreiling's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/akreiling.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-print-fax/1049502.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

Maybe you could try and do a system restore to a date earlier then when the
32 bit software was installed.
