Default Reinstall of Vista Upgrade?

I've got multiple errors popping up in vista media center and thus to my
extenders on the tv's. After reading multiple posts, it seems alot have fixed
this by reinstalling Vista? So here is my problem, I upgraded XP Pro to Vista
Home Premium. From posts on these newsgroups it seems that I will have
problems trying to reinstall this since it was an upgrade. I've got
everything important backed up so I'd like to do a clean install and format
the C drive. Is this possible with the upgrade DVD?

Hello dnelms,

Did you not do a clean install when you upgraded to Vista?

For those who have an upgrade dvd

Hope this helps

Yes, did a clean install and have not had problems since doing it in early
August.

Just started a couple of days ago, and a rollback with system restore did
not fix it.

Hello dnelms,

You will need to make sure you have your product key first - if you
don't have it to hand, you can find it with this tutorial

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/85...ey-number.html

Before you do a clean reinstall, you may like to look at this first

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88...all-vista.html

Hope it helps

Hi,

Use the clean reinstall or repair reinstall option. For future
reference, believe that it will activate automatically online 5 times ,
after that you need to ring the toll free number -

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/84...sta-phone.html

Also for future reference, you have the option of doing this :

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/91...up-repair.html

If you decide to do the clean reinstall, so it's all fresh - you can
use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer your files and settings to another
hd , then transfer them back after.

Hope that helps
