Photo Gallery - No Picture displayed

If it was a video drive issue then likely the problem would show up regardless the application. Be sure you have the latest VISTA approved video drivers. I have a NVidia GeForce 7600 GT, Photo Galley generates thumbnails and full sized images fine with it. Images can't be displayed for a host of reasons the most common being the file is corrupt or in a non supported format. Try opening in XnView, it opens about 400 different file types and is another "must have" free application. |

Photo Gallery - No Picture displayed
I used the restore facility to stepwise go backwards through all the programs
and updates. Eventually I got to the point where the preview is working again. I reinstalled all the programs and have re-installed all the recommended updates and the preview is currently still working, so not sure what actually caused the problem. someone previously mentioned an NVIDIA driver as being the culprit, but when I tried "rolling back" the driver it didn't help. Each time I install a new program / driver or update I recheck, and still working so far, so a bit of a mystery glitch! "DRBE" wrote: Has anyone found a solution to this yet? I have the same problem, which is very frustrating since my old PC on XP previewed fine. thanks in advance " wrote: Hi, When I double-click a picture in Photo Gallery it changes as though it's going to show the large picture, but all I get is a blank screen, the Vista hourglass and sometimes a message saying the picture can't be displayed. If I start a slideshow or choose to open in paint, it's fine. Pictures work in Media Center as well. 30GB spare on all drives a 1.5GB of memory, so the error message definitely isn't right. Seems I'm not alone http://help.lockergnome.com/vista/Ph...pict19930.html, but this is the only other reference to this error I can find. RTM, btw. ANy suggestions? |
